The Houston Rockets can’t stop launching threes and their opponents can’t keep them from making those tries either. In another display of their addiction for deep bombs, the Rockets defeated the Charlotte Hornets on the road 109-93 on the strength of the 22 3-pointers they buried Friday night.
Incredibly enough, those figures weren’t enough to eclipse the records the Rockets erected themselves last year when they drilled 24 treys on 61 attempts on Dec. 16 against the New Orleans Pelicans.
However, the Rockets still managed to set another record in the Charlotte game, as their 32 3-point attempts in the first half were the most in a half in NBA history, per ESPN Stats & Info.

Tom Haberstroh of Bleacher Report noted that Houston is facilitating the death of the two-point shot with the way the Rockets turned allergic to trying to score inside the arc while setting another record.

Ryan Anderson and Eric Gordon led the Rocket’ 3-point assault against Charlotte with each sinking six threes. James Harden, meanwhile, had four 3-pointers to go with his triple-double effort of 27 points, 11 assists, and 10 rebounds.
The Rockets currently lead the rest of the NBA in 3-pointers made and 3-point attempts per game, 14.4/40.3. Don’t expect them to keep their guns in the holsters at any point this season.
