Rockets are first to win 20 road and home games this season

With the Houston Rockets’ 109-101 win last night over the Miami Heat at AmericanAirlines Arena, the Rockets (4o-13) became the first team in the NBA this season to reach a certain mark — even before the defending-champion Golden State Warriors.

On Wednesday night, Houston improved its road record to 20-7 and are now the first team in the league to hit both 20 road wins and 20 home wins this season.

This was tweeted out last night by Houston NBC affiliate KPRC-TV sports anchor Adam Wexler.

Although the Warriors (41-13) are an impressive 22-6 on the road, they have surprisingly done worse at home this season and have compiled a 19-7 record at Oracle Arena. Golden State will likely get that 20th home victory tonight, as they host the Western Conference’s worst team record-wise in the 17-37 Dallas Mavericks.

As the Rockets continue to flourish, winning six games in a row, Golden State has faltered a little bit by losing three of their last four games. In two of those games, the Warriors committed a whopping 25 turnovers.

With Tuesday night’s loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder at Oracle Arena, the Warriors started their first two-game losing streak of the entire season.

The Rockets could tie the Warriors for the top seed in the Western Conference playoff race. Houston seems to be clicking on all cylinders right now, while Golden State has hit a little bit of a rough patch in their season. Tuesday night’s 125-105 defeat at the hands of Russell Westbrook, Paul George, and the rest of the Thunder was the Warriors’ second lopsided loss to Oklahoma City this year.
