Report: Trevor Ariza to miss 3-game road trip with sprained left foot
The Houston Rockets will be another starter short in the foreseeable future with the absence of forward Trevor Ariza, who is scheduled to miss the team’s three-game road trip with a sprained left foot, according to Jonathan Feigen of The Houston Chronicle.
Ariza is set to miss tonight’s game against the Philadelphia 76ers, Friday’s game at the Charlotte Hornets and Saturday’s matchup with the memphis Grizzlies, putting Mike D’Antoni’s team in a difficult position as they hope to bounce back from Monday’s loss.
He is slated to be re-evaluated by doctors later this week.
Forward/center Nene is also out with left Achilles soreness and considered day-to-day moving forward.
The Rockets face a perilous stretch away from home at a time when they’re expected to hold down the fort in the absence of floor general Chris Paul.
New signing Isaiah Canaan could make his team debut tonight against the Sixers and re-unite with the franchise that drafted him with the 34th overall selection in the 2013 NBA Draft. The recent signing Briante Weber will join the G League affiliate Rio Grande Valley Vipers to make way for Canaan.
The 26-year-old spent two seasons with the Rockets to start his career and is coming off averaging 4.6 points per game in 39 outings for the Chicago Bulls.
