Report: Ryan Anderson, Brandan Wright out vs. Celtics

Ryan Anderson, Brandan Wright

It’s a full slate of basketball across the NBA on Saturday but the biggest game takes place in primetime on ABC. Two of the best teams go at it when the Boston Celtics make the trip to Houston to take on James Harden and the Rockets.

It’s a huge game for both teams as they try to get the number one seed in their respective conferences. The Rockets though will be a little short-handed according to Jonathan Feigen of the Houston Chronicle:

Ryan Anderson is currently dealing with a sore left hip and Brandan Wright is dealing with a sore right knee. It doesn’t sound like either injury is really serious but they are just normal wear and tear injuries that are suffered throughout the season.

According to Jonathan Feigen of the Houston Chronicle Mike D’Antoni hopes to see them back soon.

“I don’t know about long-term, maybe a couple more games,” D’Antoni said. “I don’t know, but they’re going to get checked when we get back and we’ll have more information.”

P.J. Tucker had taken over the starting role for Ryan Anderson as of late so the starting line up will stay intact but this is still a blow to the Rockets bench unit.

Anderson is a good shooter and he can really space the floor, something the Rockets love to do. Although his minutes have been down to about 20 minutes per game as of late, he is a veteran and will be missed.

Look for Joe Johnson to probably play a few more minutes, and for the Rockets to try and go smaller.

For the Celtics and Rockets, this is the second time they have faced off this year. The first time the Celtics really were able to control the tempo and held the Rockets to only 98 points, which helped them come out with the victory.
