Like many teams around the NBA, the Houston Rockets are dealing with injuries. In an attempt to shore up their ranks, the team is planning to sign forward James Nunnally to a 10-day contract:

Earlier this week, Jonathan Feigen of the Houston Chronicle reported that the Rockets were interested in signing a wing player, with Nunnally being a primary candidate.
Nunnally, now 28 years of age, spent two seasons playing in Europe before signing with the Minnesota Timberwolves during this season’s free agency. His playing time with the Timberwolves was a bit limited, though, and the team waived him last week — just before his salary for 2018-19 could become guaranteed.
Though he only played in 13 games this season, Nunally proved he can be an effective shooter from the perimeter. In 13 appearances with the Wolves, the San Jose native averaged 2.1 points on 42.9 percent shooting from the field (38.5 percent from beyond the arc).
The Rockets, who will take a cap hit worth $76K for Nunnally’s deal, have five players listed on their injury report, including Chris Paul, Brandon Knight, Eric Gordon and Clint Capela. If he is indeed signed to a 10-day deal, Nunnally could see a fair amount of playing time, though Gordon is hoping to return on Wednesday:

Houston will be back in action on Wednesday night, when they’ll welcome the Brooklyn Nets to town. Tip-off inside the Toyota Center is set for 8:00 p.m. ET.
