Following a cap space-clearing trade deal that saw him get shipped off to the Memphis Grizzlies, former Golden State Warriors swingman Andre Iguodala has now become one of the league’s most sought-after veterans.
The revamped Houston Rockets have been rumored as one of his potential destinations, but according to Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium, Houston may be unwilling to take on Iguodala’s hefty contract, as doing so would send them deep into luxury tax:

While Iguodala is technically a member of the Grizzlies as of this writing, most believe he will not play a single game for the team. At 35, the former Finals MVP has little intention of taking part in a Grizzlies rebuild, and the Memphis front office is currently looking at offers for Iguodala.
One huge stumbling block in any potential deal, however, is the $17.2 million Iguodala is owed for the coming season. He is currently on the final deal of a three-year, $48 million contract he signed with the Warriors back in 2017, so any team that is interested in him must also be willing to take on that big deal. The Grizzlies are also seeking a first-round pick in return.
This is apparently something that is scaring off Houston. The former All-Star would definitely be an excellent addition to the Rockets — and for any contending side, for that matter — but the price that needs to be paid might just prove to be a tad too high for them.
