Report: Rockets, Danuel House Jr. fail to agree on NBA deal

The Houston Rockets and Danuel House Jr. have reportedly been unable to reach a contract agreement.

House served his last of the 45 days of service with the Rockets on Monday against the Memphis Grizzlies,

And while there was a strong belief that he would sign a deal, that apparently isn’t going to happen, according to Jonathan Feigen of the Houston Chronicle.

Houston is short on bodies with injuries to three of their main players in Chris Paul, Clint Capela, and Eric Gordon, not to mention Carmelo Anthony’s empty place in the roster despite being away from the team.

In light of this need, House has played 30 minutes or more in the last three games, scoring 14 or more points in each of them as one of the cogs around franchise star James Harden.

House was initially signed shortly after he was cut by the Golden State Warriors following training camp, despite an impressive showing in two of their preseason games.

The third-year wing wouldn’t reappear for his new NBA squad until late November, but has played in each of the 25 games since, getting 12 nods to start during his brief time with the Rockets.

The Texas A&M standout is averaging 9.0 points, 3.6 rebounds, 1.0 assists and shooting the three-ball at a 39 percent clip as one of Mike D’Antoni’s vital cogs in his high-volume offensive system.
