Report: Jeff Green signs with Rockets

Jeff Green, Rockets

Veteran small forward Jeff Green is signing with the Houston Rockets, according to Tim MacMahon of ESPN.

Green was waived the Utah Jazz earlier this season:

Green averaged 7.8 points and 2.7 rebounds in 30 games for the Jazz. He shot 38.5 percent from the field, 32.7 percent from beyond the arc and 77.8 percent from the free-throw line.

The Rockets are signing Green and DeMarre Carroll to bolster their defense after trading center Clint Capela to the Atlanta Hawks. The Rockets are fully buying into the small-ball era.

Green has career NBA averages of 13.0 points, 4.4 rebounds and 1.6 assists in 890 games with the Oklahoma City Thunder, Boston Celtics, Memphis Grizzlies, Los Angeles Clippers, Orlando Magic, Cleveland Cavaliers, Washington Wizards and Jazz.
