James Harden is the Houston Rockets’ court mastermind, leading the team to become the highest-scoring group in the NBA today. A lawsuit filed against Harden by Moses Malone Jr., however, alleges that the early NBA MVP candidate is also the architect of the beating he received last summer, per Tim McMahon of ESPN.
Moses Malone Jr. filed an amendment to a civil lawsuit Monday, seeking damages from James Harden for allegedly orchestrating a beating last summer in retaliation for a Facebook post that offended the Houston Rockets All-Star, Malone’s attorney, George Farah, said.
The lawsuit was initially filed last September and it states that apart from the physical harm Malone got from four men, he was also robbed of jewelry June outside a strip club last June. It should be noted that Harden has not been charged. Among those who got charges, however, was the security guard of the strip club, Darian Blount.
The amendment to the lawsuit states that Blount was “acting on the orders of Defendant James Harden when he and his associates attacked [Malone].” The suit alleges that Harden “paid Blount approximately $20,000 to put a hit on” Malone.
Moses believes that Harden plotted an attack on him after the former made a Facebook post that criticizes the Rockets shooting guard of asking $249 fee for his basketball camp.
Moses Malone Jr.’ name can be very familiar to a lot of basketball fans since he’s the son of the late Hall of Famer and former Houston Rockets big man Moses Malone, who passed away in 2015.
