Report: James Harden return tonight, will start vs. Spurs

james harden

What more can be said about James Harden? The explosive shooting guard has truly evolved over the years from a promising starter into a superstar. After being traded to the Rockets in 2012, he became fully invested in the franchise. In return, the organization embraced him as their franchise star. Though it hasn’t been easy for Harden in his rise to the top. Harden has repeatedly fallen short of tasting the celebratory champagne that comes with winning an NBA championship.

Just last year, Harden and the Rockets were shockingly defeated by the aging San Antonio Spurs. Criticized for falling short, Harden has blossomed into an MVP-caliber player this year. With the arrival of Chris Paul in the offseason, the Rockets have become championship contenders with a goal of dethroning the defending NBA champions, the Golden State Warriors.

Rightfully so, the Rockets so far have the best record in the league and have made it their goal to secure homecourt advantage throughout the postseason. The Warriors are on their tail for the first spot in Western Conference, sitting only one spot back from the Rockets.

Against the Mavericks on Sunday, the Rockets were without James Harden, who was out with a knee injury. Though, the Rockets did blow out the Mavericks in a convincing fashion.

On Monday night, the Rockets will take on the Spurs, and Harden will return to the lineup.

Harden is the front-runner for this year’s MVP award. It makes sense that the Rockets want him back to clinch the best record in the Western Conference at the end of the regular season.
