Report: James Harden, Clint Capela plan to return to Rockets’ lineup vs. Nuggets

Houston Rockets teammates James Harden and Clint Capela plan to make their returns to the lineup for Tuesday night’s home game against the Denver Nuggets, according to a report from Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports.

Harden scored 44 points on Saturday, but he was held out of Sunday’s game due to a toe ailment. Capela, on the other hand, has missed two consecutive games with a right heel injury.

The fact that Harden and Capela could be well enough to return is great news for the Rockets, who are currently holding a 22-11 overall record. Harden is leading the league in scoring at 38.3 points per game, and Capela gives Houston a presence in the paint.

Houston’s frontcourt has been hit with several injuries, including those to Tyson Chandler (shoulder) and Nene (groin). Capela’s return will be a welcomed addition.

Rockets All-Star Russell Westbrook was held out of Sunday’s game for rest, but he is expected to be available for Tuesday’s matchup. Eric Gordon scored 20 points in 22 minutes of action in his return to the lineup with Westbrook resting, but the Rockets were ultimately defeated by the Pelicans, 127-112.

Tuesday night’s Rockets-Nuggets game is scheduled to tip inside the Toyota Center at 7:00 p.m. ET, with NBA TV having live broadcast coverage. Houston has won five of its last seven games, while Denver has won nine of its last 10.
