REPORT: Eric Gordon cleared to play for Rockets vs. Bulls

Rockets, Eric Gordon, Bulls

Houston Rockets shooting guard Eric Gordon will play against the Chicago Bulls on Saturday.

Gordon missed the Rockets’ previous game against the Golden State Warriors with left hamstring soreness.

The Rockets enter their matchup with the Bulls at 5-3. They are coming off a 129-112 win over the Warriors.

Gordon, who signed an extension with the Rockets in the offseason, is averaging 10.3 points and 1.7 rebounds on the young season. He’s shooting terrible from the field though, as Gordon is making just 27.8 percent of his shots from the field, 23.3 percent from beyond the arc and 66.7 percent from the free-throw line.

Certainly, Mike D’Antoni and Co. are hoping Gordon’s shooting numbers will increase as the season goes along. He’s too good of a shooter to keep struggling like this.

The Bulls are just 3-6 on the season. With Gordon back in the lineup and James Harden and Russell Westbrook leading the charge, the Rockets should be able to defeat Chicago on the road.

Houston has won two games in a row. Harden is averaging 36.5 points per game on the season, while Westbrook is putting up 20.7. Saturday is another opportunity for the two MVPs to establish a rapport on the court.

It helps that Gordon is back in the lineup. He will stretch the floor with his perimeter shooting.
