PJ Tucker says Russell Westbrook is ‘another super aggressive guy who can attack the rim and score the ball’

Houston Rockets forward PJ Tucker says he’s excited to play with former MVP Russell Westbrook next season.

The Rockets acquired Westbrook from the Oklahoma City Thunder in a blockbuster trade involving Chris Paul. Houston is the only team in the NBA with two MVPs on its roster in Westbrook and James Harden.

“[Westbrook] is another super aggressive guy who can attack the rim and score the ball,” Tucker said, via Ben Golliver of the Washington Post. “That opens everything up for everyone else. [Harden and Westbrook] know each other’s games. They’ve played together when they were young and they’re excited to play together again. If they’re excited, I’m excited.”

Russell Westbrook has averaged a triple-double three seasons in a row. Last year with the Thunder, Westbrook put up 22.9 points, 11.1 rebounds and 10.7 assists in 73 games.

When Westbrook attacks the rim and collapses the defense, he’s going to have shooters all around him to kick it out to. The Rockets have James Harden, PJ Tucker, Eric Gordon, Austin Rivers, Gerald Green and Danuel House to space the floor.

Everyone wants to see how the Westbrook-Harden pairing is going to look since both superstars are ball-dominant guys. Rockets head coach Mike D’Antoni will be tasked with trying to make this partnership work.
