Patrick Beverley rooting for Rockets, says he wants to see a team beat Warriors

Patrick Beverley, Rockets

Los Angeles Clippers guard Patrick Beverley wants to see the Houston Rockets beat the Golden State Warriors in their conference semifinals series, and for a good reason.

In an appearance on NBA on TNT before the Game 4 between the Rockets and Warriors, Beverley said he likes the Dubs. However, he said he wants to see Houston win just for the sake of seeing someone beat the reigning champions.

The Warriors have been the most dominant team in the league over the past five years. They have won three of the last four championships, including the last two. They are gunning for a historic third straight title, but they will have to get past the Rockets first.

Beverley’s Clippers were eliminated by the Warriors in the first round, so it makes sense for him to root for the Rockets.

Luckily for Beverley, Houston tied the series with Golden State after winning Game 4. The Rockets survived a spirited fightback by the Warriors in the payoff period, keeping them very much alive as the series head back to Bay Area.

With the loss at last year’s Western Conference Finals still fresh in their minds, Houston would like to be the team that will take down the champions. And by the looks of it, they are determined to do just that.
