Last weekend, Las Vegas was rocked after a devastating shooting incident at a country concert that saw 58 people lose their lives while numerous others were injured in the process.

Since then, many have reached out in support of helping those who lost loved ones during the tragic event. According to Fernando Ramirez of Chron.com, new Houston Rockets owner Tilman Fertitta has made a concerted effort to aid people affected by the situation.

Fertitta, owner of the Golden Nugget hotel and casino, told Fox News the mass shooting “hit home” for him because one of his employees, who had four children, was one of the victims.

“A 31-year-old employee from Mastro’s [steakhouse at the hotel] was killed at the concert,” Fertitta said. “So we’ll do an internal, company-wide fundraiser to help his family, in addition to doing everything we can do for Mandalay Bay and first responders.”

The Galveston billionaire told Fox News he is also coordinating with his staff to offer free meals for first responders and organize blood drives.

Fertitta has a personal connection to it because of his ownership of a hotel located in Las Vegas. The fact that he has put forth the motion to help out the family of one of his employees that lost their life last weekend is an amazing gesture.

There has been an outpour of support throughout the country for those affected by the situation. This was something that has brought further attention to the help that is still needed.
