NBA rumors: Russell Westbrook for John Wall trade discussed by Rockets, Wizards
The Houston Rockets are still searching for a trade partner for star point guard Russell Westbrook, and the Washington Wizards are now emerging in a huge twist to Clutch City’s offseason upheaval.
According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, the Rockets and Wizards are discussing a trade centered around swapping All-Star lead guards John Wall and Westbrook.

Westbrook, 32, has been courted by the New York Knicks and Charlotte Hornets, chiefly, for the Rockets to trade after a single season in Houston. At the same time, All-Star shooting guard James Harden appears to be on the brink of getting traded himself by the Rockets to either the Brooklyn Nets or Philadelphia 76ers.
Wall missed the past season due to recovering from an Achilles injury. While he was paired with All-Star shooting guard Bradley Beal for much of the duo’s time in D.C., perhaps the Wizards are on the verge of breaking up the star-studded backcourt and rebuilding the foundation brick by brick.
The Rockets could trade not one but two star guards this week with Harden to the Nets picking up steam and now a new suitor in the Wizards pursuing Westbrook.
This week is certainly shaping up to be one of the craziest in NBA history in terms of the transactions alone.
