NBA players react to James Harden’s historic contract

Saturday, July 8 marks a new point in NBA history.  Houston Rockets star James Harden agreed to the most lucrative contract in league history by signing a four-year, $170 million extension which guarantees him a full $228 million through the 2022-23  season.

Prior to this deal,  Warriors guard Steph Curry boasted of that honor by signing a supermax five-year, $201 million deal which was at the time the most lucrative in all four major sports.

Players around the league took to social media to express how they felt about the new deal and their how their colleagues are paving the way for future contracts.

There was one player, however, that felt this wasn’t enough and went into full detail as to exactly why players deserve even more.

Caron Butler, while happy for Harden, still needed to get a few more things off of his chest, and yes he vented while writing the entire caption himself.

MLB does not have a hard cap. NBA does. #NFL Alex Rodrigues was making 25 mill per year back in 2000, 17 years ago. He signed a 10 year deal for 250 million, (350 million today). The highest contract at that time in the NBA was Kevin Garnett’s, 126 million. Here’s is the list of baseball players salaries for 2017. Top 10 MLB salaries for 2017: 1. Face of the NBA Philanthropist Activist Great guy. salary for 2017. 30 million Hmmmmmm. 30 million The spike in money players are earning is because the game is so popular that the tv revenue skyrocketed. Players share in that revenue. So do owners. Closer look at both sides. Players. It’s our way to earn money. The 440 best athletes on the planet. Owners: Owning a team is a hobby or business tool. Yet they tell the players there there is a cap on how much money players can earn. Solution. 1. Eliminate the cap or 2. Put a cap on how much money owners can make per year when earning a living thru their everyday jobs. Let’s take a poll. 1. Sound fair Or 2 Something don’t smell right As I’m writing this @jharden13 signed 225 plus congrats brother well deserved..#VetLife#TuffJuice#FreeAgency#NBA#keepeatingGenerations
