NBA players making social media headlines this week

With another week gone in the NBA’s offseason, and one week closer to the start of the 2017-18 NBA Regular Season, here are what players in the Association have been talking about this week:
The biggest bombshell from the last week was that Cleveland Cavaliers point guard Kyrie Irving requested a trade out of Cleveland due to no longer wanting to play alongside LeBron James:
Kyrie Irving asked the Cavs to trade him in a meeting last week, sources told ESPN. Story posting on https://t.co/b8H6X39PKb shortly

Irving’s teammate Kevin Love had a hilarious response to the whole Irving situation after being in a slew of trade rumors his entire time with the Cavaliers:
Life is amazing. No complaints. Things are a little peculiar. But no complaints. Now go kick some rocks

The next two posts come from Cavaliers superstar LeBron James doing his best President Donald Trump impression by labeling outlets “fake news” on what they said on his relationship with disgruntled guard Kyrie Irving:
#NotFacts people!
Booooo!!! Get another source. https://t.co/ubLRgWeMbt

Another player making strides in social media was Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green sparring with boxing star Conor McGregor:
We rocking with Floyd bro not you… take that off bruh @thenotoriousmma

According to Bleacher Report, McGregor then responded to Green by saying, “That’s C.J Watson mate. I don’t know who the [expletive] you are. No disrespect tho kid, keep hustling and stay in school. Now ask yourself why I’m rocking C.J. when I don’t know or give an [expletive] about basketball. I dribble heads off the floor. Not a ball. This is no game here kid” So in actuality, McGregor was rocking a C.J. Watson jersey due to the fact that Watson had an affair with McGregor’s opponent Floyd Mayweather’s wife, Josie Harris.
New Orleans Pelicans star forward Anthony Davis made headlines for making trends with starting the #DriveByDunkChallenge:

Boston Celtics second-year wing Jaylen Brown responded with a #DriveByDunk of his own:

Finally, Celtics general manager Danny Ainge was the victim of a #DriveByDunk after being baptized by his son:

Fresh off an NBA Championship and Finals MVP, Warriors superstar Kevin Durant continues to get in Twitter beefs with NBA fans:
you must be a piece of
if a dog chooses to live in the streets instead of your house
— Kevin Durant (@KDTrey5) July 24, 2017
Rounding out the top ten is Complex’s Joe Budden, who shares that Houston Rockets superstar James Harden has his jersey hanging in a Houston strip club due to how much money he has spent there:
Joe Budden says James Harden spent so much $ a strip club retired his jersey. Has @JalenRose been honored that way?

Harden has yet to give a comment on his latest honor.
With the lull of the NBA offseason hitting its full effect, thankfully the stars continue to shine brightly even when they are not on the hardwood. Only a few weeks to go until the start of training camp!
Bonus: Here’s a surprisingly fire and hilarious rap from Shaquille O’Neal.
