NBA investigation of Clippers-Rockets altercation continuing into tomorrow; Trevor Ariza seen as aggressor

Following the much talked about altercation involving Trevor Ariza in the L.A. Clippers’ locker room on Monday, the NBA is investigating the incident and will continue to do so until Wednesday. They are seeing the Houston Rockets swingman as the aggressor and are still receiving more details about it, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
Sources: As details emerge on aftermath Rockets-Clippers game, Trevor Ariza remains described as most aggressive and determined to get into opposing locker room — with Chris Paul and James Harden viewed as trying to slow down Ariza. NBA investigation will continue into Wednesday.

The matchup of both teams turned out to be a hotly contested one and during the fourth quarter, a heated exchange occurred between former teammates Chris Paul and Blake Griffin. With only a few seconds remaining on the game clock, Ariza was ejected and continued giving comments to some Clippers players, including Austin Rivers, who he had some choice words for.
Ariza was then reportedly being pacified by James Harden and Gerald Green when he made his way to the home team’s locker room in Staples Center. He was being held back to avoid emotions from getting the best of him and not turn the situation into a full-blown fist fight between him and Rivers.
It remains to be seen if the 32-year-old UCLA product will be given any disciplinary action by the league office. However, with how they have been strict and consistent in handing out sanctions for fights or skirmishes, it won’t come as a complete surprise if Ariza will receive one in the coming days. The Houston faithful can only hope that he won’t get suspended as their team is already shorthanded with Harden injured and Ariza’s potential absence will definitely affect their rotation.
