Mychal Thompson’s name-change suggestion for MSG after Rockets star James Harden’s career night

Following Houston Rockets superstar James Harden’s 61-point eruption against the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden, former NBA player Mychal Thompson had this to say on Twitter.

Harden was unstoppable against the Knicks, shooting 17-of-38 from the field and 22-of-25 from the free-throw line. He may have shot 5-of-20 from beyond the arc, but he converted on two four-point plays.

Madison Square Garden is one of the NBA stadiums where players from around the league would like to perform at their best. Guys like Kobe Bryant and LeBron James have had spectacular performances at the Mecca of basketball. Even Carmelo Anthony had some of the best moments of his career in that stadium during his tenure with the Knicks.

Harden just added his name to the list of players who destroyed the Knicks in their home floor.

However, to the Knicks’ credit, they’ve made their game against the Rockets interesting. Despite being one of the worst teams in the East, they put a scare in the fifth best team in the West. New York was unable to stop the reigning MVP’s scoring barrage, but they were able to neutralize the rest of Houston’s players.

The Knicks have now lost seven straight games. Not even a stellar performance from Harden can serve as a wake-up call for them to turn the season around.

It looks like New York will just tank for the remainder of the season in order to restart their rebuilding process — again.
