Mike D’Antoni credits PJ Tucker for not letting Rockets lose

The Houston Rockets were able to pull off a 126-121 overtime win against the Golden State Warriors in Game 3 of their Western Conference semifinals matchup, and head coach Mike D’Antoni gave huge props to forward PJ Tucker for his efforts in helping the team avoid going down 3-0 in the series.

Tucker only scored seven points in the game, but four of them came during the crucial moments of the overtime period. He also had 12 boards overall, including five offensive rebounds that helped the Rockets prevent any Warriors comeback.

Of course, a Rockets victory wouldn’t have been possible if it wasn’t for James Harden, who finished with 41 points, nine rebounds and six assists while nursing injuries to both his eyes. The reigning MVP made sure that Houston’s season has at least a few breaths left, with a stellar performance capped off by a stepback 3-pointer and a clutch floater in the final minute of OT to put the Warriors out for good.

It looked like the Rockets would finally come out victorious when they built an 11-point lead in the third quarter, but the Warriors — as they have proven time and time again — came roaring back to force overtime. fortunately, PJ Tucker and James Harden put everything on the line to survive the onslaught.

Game 4 of the series will be on May 6, Monday, at Houston where the Rockets will look to even things up.
