Metta World Peace says James Harden is top 60 all-time

Metta World Peace, James Harden

James Harden is no question one of the NBA’s best players. He went from a sixth man with the Oklahoma City Thunder to getting his team the first seed in the Western Conference and probably winning the MVP award with the Houston Rockets.

There was a time that Kevin Durant was no question the better player when they both played on the Thunder, but now the gap has closed. Metta World Peace thinks Harden might have actually pulled alongside Durant and hoped on Twitter to discuss it.

“There was a time KD was head and shoulders above Harden but now I don’t believe that. For the years to come I don’t think it’s head and shoulders I think they are even but we will see when they meet each other in the semifinals most likely.”

“If James Harden wins I think you gotta start the conversation, top 20, top 50 0f all time, something like that you have to start some type of conversation.”

Top 20 seems a bit extreme for a guy that would only be winning his first NBA title if he did win this year but with maybe a couple more titles he could climb up the ranks.

He has played 72 games for the Rockets this year averaging 30.4 points, 8.8 assists, and 5.4 rebounds per game. He and Chris Paul have led the Rockets to a 65-17 and home-court advantage throughout the playoffs.

The Rockets next game is on Wednesday night against the Minnesota Timberwolves where they will look to take a 2-0 series lead.
