LaVar Ball says Lakers’ Lonzo Ball ‘disgusted’ because he’s not used to losing

Lonzo Ball

LaVar Ball’s mouth is unstoppable. The ever-outspoken father of Los Angeles Lakers rookie guard Lonzo Ball created ripples across the airwaves once more, when LaVar spoke with SiriusXM NBA Radio and insinuated that Lonzo hasn’t been happy with all the losing the Lakers are having primarily because he’s not used to it. The Lakers are just 8-15 and have lost each of their last five games.

Furthermore, he called out the Lakers’ coaching staff again for underusing his first-born, particularly in the fourth period.

The Los Angeles franchise recently pushed for a stronger enforcement of what is now being dubbed as the “LaVar Ball rule”, which forbids media members from gathering around the section of Staples Center reserved for family, friends, and agents of Lakers players, but that doesn’t seem effective in slowing down LaVar from being a quote-machine.

This time, he is openly pinning the team’s struggles to that of the team not playing his son in the fourth quarter. LaVar’s scathing comment came after Lakers head coach Luke Walton sat Lonzo for the entire fourth quarter of Sunday’s 118-95 loss to the Houston Rockets.

LaVar, however, probably didn’t have the benefit of having some stats in front of him when he spoke with NBA Radio. But leave it to Tim McMahon of ESPN to interject some numbers to put everything into perspective.
