Lakers’ Rajon Rondo reacts to allegations that he spit at Rockets’ Chris Paul’s face

Rajon Rondo, Chris Paul, Lakers, Rockets

Los Angeles Lakers point guard Rajon Rondo is adamant that he didn’t spit toward Houston Rockets All-Star floor general Chris Paul Saturday night, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic.

Rondo is reportedly livid over the accusation. The Lakers spoke with Rondo and looked over the tape in which neither side saw such behavior.

Rajon Rondo and Chris Paul got into a heated fight in the fourth quarter. Paul is accusing Rondo of spitting in his face. Both players landed punches on each other in what turned into an ugly night at Staples Center.

Rondo and Paul have never liked each other. There’s an old rumor that Rondo once told Paul he was never going to win a ring, and that reportedly irked Paul.

Saturday night was also not the first time the two stars have gotten into it. Back when Rondo was on the Boston Celtics and Paul was on the New Orleans Pelicans, they got into a minor scuffle after a game had ended in Boston.

Look, unless there’s video evidence of Rajon Rondo spitting in Chris Paul’s face, this is all he said-she-said. Obviously, Rondo is going to deny spitting, while Paul and the Rockets are going to say Rondo did.
