Knicks’ RJ Barrett looking forward to facing James Harden, Giannis Antetokounmpo the most next season

New York Knicks rookie swingman RJ Barrett says he’s looking forward to facing Houston Rockets guard James Harden and Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo the most next season.

Barrett admits Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James has always been his favorite player, but says Harden and Antetokounmpo are the two guys he’s most excited to face because they do things he has never seen before:

“I’m actually kind of more looking forward to playing against James Harden ’cause that would definitely be my matchup at my position,” Barrett told SirusXM Radio. “James Harden and definitely Giannis ’cause those guys are like…some of the stuff I’ve never seen before.”

Harden won the MVP award in 2018 and has led the league in scoring the past two seasons. Antetokounmpo, meanwhile, is the reigning MVP.

RJ Barrett averaged 22.6 points, 7.6 rebounds and 4.3 assists at Duke last season while shooting 45.4 percent from the field, 30.8 percent from beyond the arc and 66.5 percent from the free-throw line. The Knicks are hoping the lefty can turn into half the scorer Harden is with the Rockets.

Barrett had a rough start to Summer League in Las Vegas, but finished strong. He played well in his final three games, giving Knicks fans something to look forward to in the future.
