John Wall flushes home first points with Rockets via slam dunk

Rockets, John Wall

Houston Rockets star John Wall finally returned to the court on Wednesday for his first regular-season game in over two years.

Just minutes into the first quarter, James Harden linked up with Wall on the fast-break, where he slammed down an easy bucket for his first points as a Rockets player:

It’s been an underwhelming start to the year for Houston. Currently 0-2, a whole COVID-19 fiasco resulted in several players having to isolate for the first week of the season, including Wall and Demarcus Cousins.

With the Harden drama still very much present, there’s a lot of animosity surrounding this organization. Wall joined the Rockets in a massive blockbuster in the offseason that sent Russell Westbrook to the Wizards.

Coming off an Achilles tear, there are certainly concerns as to how Wall will hold up this season with his new team. But in preseason action, he looked good, possessing the same type of athleticism that’s made the 30-year a four-time All-Star.

Although Harden has voiced he wants a trade, the Rockets do have a solid core with Wall and Cousins now healthy as well. Christian Wood was also a key signing who has shown early promise. Only time will tell, but the Beard could actually form quite the partnership with Wall if he does stay put as the Rockets look to make a serious run at the playoffs.

Without a doubt, this will be the first of many buckets for Wall. Halfway through the second quarter against the Kings, he has six points in 12 minutes as the Rockets look for their first victory of the season.
