Joel Embiid reacts to Philly’s 4-game losing streak

The Philadelphia 76ers suffered another tough loss on Friday, as they fell to the Houston Rockets, 118-108. This now makes it four straight defeats for the Sixers, who are currently in the midst of a slump. Philadelphia superstar big man Joel Embiid recently spoke about his team’s disappointing losing streak, admitting that this string of losses has not been an easy pill to swallow for him on a personal level.

Joel Embiid did his best to help his side against the Rockets, with the prized big man accounting for 20 points (7-of-17 from the field, 6-of-6 from the line), 12 rebounds, three assists, two steals, and a block in 33 minutes of play. Nonetheless, he lost the battle of the bigs on the evening, with the Houston’s Clint Capela going off for 30 points (on 12-of-16 shooting), 14 rebounds, two steals, and a block.

Embiid and company also proved no match to the red hot James Harden, who caught fire yet again, putting up an amazing 44-point, 11-rebound, 11-assist triple-double against the Sixers.

Defeat in Houston on Friday ends Philadelphia’s brief four-game road trip, and it is definitely disheartening that the team will be coming home without a single victory from the entire stint. They will get two nights off, and will be back in action on Monday, as they hope to get back to winning ways when they host the Oklahoma City Thunder at the Wells Fargo Center.

The Sixers are now 23-14 for the season, and have fallen to the sixth spot in the Eastern Conference.
