Joe Johnson, Ryan Anderson, Brandan Wright out vs. Thunder

Rockets

The red-hot Houston Rockets have won 15 straight games, but it sounds like they’ll be without the services of several rotational players for Tuesday night’s matchup against the Oklahoma City Thunder. According to a report from Jonathan Feigen of the Houston Chronicle, Joe Johnson (illness), Ryan Anderson (hip), and Brandan Wright (sore knee) will be held out.

Anderson, now 29 years of age, will be missing his fourth straight game. The former 21st overall pick (2008) has made 57 appearances with the Rockets this season, averaging 10.0 points on 43.0 percent shooting from the field (38.3 percent from beyond the arc) and 5.3 rebounds.

With Anderson ruled out for Tuesday’s game, Trevor Ariza, P.J. Tucker and Luc Mbah a Moute could see their minutes increase.

Johnson, 36, played 13 minutes in Saturday night’s 123-120 win over the Boston Celtics, but he failed to record a point. In his six appearances with the Rockets this season, Johnson has posted averages of 6.0 points on 35.3 percent shooting from the field (33.3 percent from downtown), 2.3 rebounds, and 1.3 assists. With Johnson being held out, Gerald Green could see a bit of playing time.

Wright, 30, will also be missing a fourth consecutive game due to a sore right knee. The former UNC Tarheel has played in just one game with the Rockets since his buyout agreement with the Memphis Grizzlies before this season’s All-Star break.
