James Harden’s shot chart is wildly consistent

Rockets

Houston Rockets superstar James Harden has been an unstoppable force on the offensive end, scoring at least 30 points in 21 consecutive games. He’s also scored at least 57 points in three of the Rockets’ last five games.

Harden has been shooting the ball a lot this year. He leads the league in number of 3-pointers and freethrows taken, but what’s been more impressive is that he’s shooting the ball tremendous efficiency.

Based on his shot chart, Harden has been able to hurt opposing defenses from pretty much everywhere in the floor. 56% of his shots are coming from beyond the arc, and he shoots well from top of the key, left wing, and right corner areas. While he seems to be struggling in the right wing, missing most of his threes from there, it is worth noting that he hit the game-winner against the Golden State Warriors in that area as well.

The reigning MVP has also been attacking the paint relentlessly this season, making him one of the best finishers down low. And if opposing players will contest his shot, he can easily draw fouls and head to the freethrow line. He’s averaging almost 12 attempts from the charity stripe this season.

Harden isn’t someone who’s afraid to take a ton of shots. He’s been shooting 44 percent from the field this season, including 37.4 percent from 3. And based on what we’ve seen from him so far, he has no plans of slowing down.

And it has worked for him and the Rockets, so he’ll keep shooting.
