James Harden’s jersey hung in strip club after he spent $1 million in one night

James Harden, Rockets

James Harden’s Houston Rockets jersey will one day be immortalized high above the rafters of the Toyota Center. However, although he is still an active player at the moment, it looks like his number 13 has already been commemorated outside the basketball court.

In a hilarious revelation by Mal (real name Jamil Clay) in the latest episode of the Joe Budden podcast, he revealed that The Beard’s jersey has been retired in one Houston strip club after casually spending $1 million in one crazy night.

Check out the juicy story at the 21-minute mark of this clip.

“James has his jersey like hanging from the top. They were doing that because they said James has been going in there spending like [a lot of money], you know what I mean? So they gave him his own jersey hanging from the rafters of the strip club,” Mal bared.

Apart from his penchant for step-backs and going to the foul line, James Harden’s affinity with strip clubs has somewhat been an open secret around the league. The one-time league MVP and Rockets superstar has been known to bring his entire entourage to such establishments, which explains the seemingly absurd bill.

Still, that $1 million tab has got to be a world record or something. Harden, meanwhile, doesn’t seem to mind considering the four-year, $160 million extension he received from the Rockets in 2017.

The 30-year-old megastar also has plenty of lucrative endorsements under his belt, particularly his partnership with Adidas. He is once again a contender for the MVP plum this season, averaging 34.4 points (league-best), 6.4 rebounds, 7.4 assists and 1.7 steals.

The Rockets, meanwhile, are one of the 22 teams set to return on July 31 for the continuation of the 2019-20 NBA regular season.
