James Harden way better than Stephen Curry, argues Kendrick Perkins

James Harden, NBA, Stephen Curry, Kendrick Perkins, Warriors, Rockets

For former NBA player Kendrick Perkins, Houston Rockets star James Harden is way better than Golden State Warriors sharpshooter Stephen Curry.

Via Twitter, Perkins replied to a fan who commented on the First Take debate regarding Curry and Harden. Perkins doubled-down on his case, noting that Harden is the “better all-around player.”

Perkins debated with Max Kellerman and Marcus Spears on who’s the better player between Curry and Harden. While Perkins acknowledged Curry’s shooting prowess, he highlighted some NBA milestones in Harden’s resume.

In particular, he pointed out that in Harden’s last season with the Oklahoma City Thunder, he bagged the Sixth Man of the Year award. In the following campaign, the crafty scorer inked a hefty deal with the Rockets. According to Perkins, the Beard quickly made the NBA franchise “relevant again.”

A quick glance at the Rockets’ history shows that with James Harden in the fold, the franchise has always qualified for the postseason. This includes two trips to the Western Conference Finals in 2015 and 2018. The 2018 West Finals is the most notable once since the Rockets were just one win away from making it to the NBA Finals.

Perkins also pointed out how Harden does everything on the floor. He’s not just a scorer, as he can also rebound and pile up assists.

Kendrick Perkins definitely presented a solid case. However, Stephen Curry fans might have a set of rebuttals, including Steph’s three rings in five years. Not to mention how Curry singlehandedly changed the way the game is played.
