James Harden tweets update about injured hamstring

The Houston Rockets will be missing James Harden in tonight’s game against the Orlando Magic. The All-Star guard posted an update on his injured hamstring on Twitter hours after his team gunned for their first consecutive victory following a five-game losing slide.

In his tweet, Harden said that his Grade 2 strain hamstring will continue to get treatment and wished his teammates good luck against the visiting Magic, who commence a daunting two-game road trip against the Rockets on Wednesday and Cavs on Saturday.

Harden just dropped 40 points and 11 assists in the Rockets’ New Year’s Eve victory against the Los Angeles Lakers. Without their leading scorer (32.3 PPG on 45 percent field goal shooting) and top playmaker (9.1 APG), the Rockets are expected to lean on star guard Chris Paul, super-sub Eric Gordon and vet swingman Trevor Ariza to do the heavy lifting on the offensive end of the floor.

According to ESPN’s writer Tim McMahon, the injured hamstring will sideline Harden for the next two weeks. This also means the All-Star will miss the Rockets’ opening rematch against the Golden State Warriors on Thursday.
