James Harden, Steve Francis meet up inside the tunnel

James Harden, Steve Francis

James Harden and the Houston Rockets dominated the Golden State Warriors in Game 2, winning 127-105 and immediately after the game Harden met up with another Rockets legend, Steve Francis on the way to the locker room.

“The Franchise” was one of the most popular players in franchise history, and has stayed very involved with the Rockets since his retirement.

During his prime, Francis was one of the better players in the NBA, and like Harden was pretty flashy on the court. He spent a total of six years with the Rockets, with his best year being the 2002-03 season. He played 81 games averaging 21 points, 6.2 rebounds, and 6.2 assists per game. The one thing that Francis didn’t have much success with was the playoffs. In his nine NBA seasons, his team only made the playoffs once.

Harden is trying to accomplish something that Francis was never able to do, win an NBA title, and it seems like this year is as good of a shot as any.

After Game 1 there was a lot of questions about the Rockets iso ball that they were playing. There were questions if they would change the style of play, but after using iso ball to lock up the number one seed, the Rockets decided to stick with it, and it paid off in a big way.

They were still playing a lot of that style, but they also were finding the open shooter and knocking down the open shot, something that they weren’t able to do in Game 1.

The Rockets now have a whole different challenge, going back to Oracle Arena for Game 3, and they need to steal at least one game if they want a chance to win this series.
