James Harden scores 36 points at halftime in 19 minutes vs. Grizzlies

Anyone who watches NBA basketball knows that James Harden is one of the best scorers in the league. Along with Stephen Curry, he has revolutionized shooting a high volume of three-point shots. Harden’s step-back three is one of the most feared shots in the NBA, and it was on full display on Monday night against the Grizzlies. “The Beard” scored 36 points in the first half, all in just 19 minutes. Here’s what his numbers looked like:

This is simply ridiculous. When Harden gets going, he is almost impossible to stop.

To further credit the dominant scorer, he is doing this against a great defensive team. Per NBA Stats, the Grizzlies currently hold the sixth-best defensive rating in the league. Marc Gasol and Jaren Jackson Jr. have been defensive beasts on the interior, and Mike Conley Jr. is a solid perimeter defender.

Even with these players, Harden is still torching Memphis. The Rockets held a 54-48 lead at the half, and Harden will look to continue his scoring outburst when the game continues. If he continues his hot streak, we might see a 60 or 70 point game.
