James Harden says he and Russell Westbrook possess the same drive to get better

Rockets, James Harden, Russell Westbrook

Houston Rockets star guard James Harden says he and new teammate Russell Westbrook are always trying to get better so they can capture that elusive first championship.

Harden and Westbrook are two of the hardest working players in the league. The two MVPs are constantly in the gym working on their craft so they can put their team in the best position to win a championship. It just so happens that Harden and Westbrook are now trying to lead the same team, the Rockets, to the title.

You don’t win an MVP award in the NBA without being a hard worker. Both James Harden and Russell Westbrook are historically great players. Westbrook has averaged a triple-double three seasons in a row, while Harden has established himself as one of the greatest scorers in NBA history.

The Rockets traded for Westbrook because they knew they needed another dynamic scorer, passer and rebounder next to Harden, as it was clear Chris Paul and Harden weren’t going to be able to work together moving forward.

With Westbrook in the fold, the Rockets are now title contenders. Of course, both Harden and Westbrook are going to have to adjust their games next season, as both All-Stars are used to having the ball in their hands a lot. Houston’s offense, though, figures to be even more lethal than usual with Russ and Harden leading the charge.
