James Harden, Russell Westbrook watch Astros advance to World Series from behind home plate
Houston Rockets star James Harden and Russell Westbrook witnessed a little bit of history after the Houston Astros defeated the New York Yankees in Game 6 of the American League Championship Series.
Both Harden and Westbbrook were present when the Astros pulled off the series upset with a 6-4 win over the favored Yankees on Saturday night — and they had front-row seats. In fact, the two former NBA MVP teammates were right behind home plate when the Astros advanced to their second World Series in the past three seasons.
And they watched it in dramatic fashion as former World Series MVP Jose Altuve hit a walk-off home run in the bottom of the ninth inning.

Harden also posted a picture to his Twitter account of himself, Westbrook and Rockets owner Tilman Fertitta at the game.

The Rockets have several days before they open up their regular season with a home date at Toyota Center against the Milwaukee Bucks — one of the best teams in the NBA. In other words, with the Rockets remaining in Houston until next Thursday night, Harden and Westbrook will have the opportunity to attend more Astros home games.
With Houston holding home-field advantage in the World Series, they’ll host the Washington Nationals on Tuesday and Wednesday night for Games 1 and 2. That means Harden, Westbrook and Fertitta could always take in another Astros playoff game behind home plate.
Let’s just make sure that Westbrook doesn’t re-injure any of his already dislocated fingers. The veteran point guard exited Friday’s preseason finale versus the Miami Heat due to re-aggravating the injury, although head coach Mike D’Antoni clarified that his starting point guard won’t miss any time.
