James Harden Rockets tribute video drops after blockbuster trade

James Harden trade, Rockets

The James Harden era has come to an end with the Houston Rockets after he was traded to the Brooklyn Nets on Wednesday. Despite how the end of his time in Houston unfolded, the Rockets released their tribute video for Harden after his blockbuster trade to the Nets.

It all began when the Rockets took the chance to trade for Harden ahead of the 2012-13 season after he spent three years with the Oklahoma City Thunder. From that moment on, Harden became one of the most lethal scorers in the NBA and helped Houston have some success in the playoffs.

As a 23-year-old shooting guard, Harden led the Rockets to the playoffs in his first year in Houston. He would proceed to lead the Rockets to the postseason in each of his first eight seasons in Houston, including two Western Conference Finals twice.

Throughout his first eight seasons, Harden averaged 29.6 points, six rebounds, 7.7 assists, and 1.8 steals per game across 613 regular-season games. In addition, he shot 36.2 percent from 3-point range and 86.2 percent from the free throw line while averaging 10.4 free throws per game.

Of course, his time with the Rockets has taken a detour in the past few months due to the team entering a new regime. Harden gave his all for the franchise and he believed that there was nothing that could help them get back to being a contender in the Western Conference.

Even though there was a fallout that led to Harden being traded, the Rockets still appreciate what the All-Star guard brought to the organization since 2012.
