James Harden praises Lakers for playing well

James Harden

For Houston Rockets superstar guard James Harden, one look at his amazing stat line on the night against the Los Angeles Lakers and you’d likely think Houston won easily. Unfortunately, that is no the case as the Lakers snapped the Rockets’ 14-game winning streak on Wednesday night with a 122-116 upset victory at Toyota Center.

Harden’s heroic effort on the night was simply not enough down the stretch, as the MVP candidate finished with a game-high 51 points on 15-of-27 shots from the floor and 17-of-21 from the charity stripe.

When asked about the Lakers after the game, Harden had plenty of compliments to say about Los Angeles’ effort in a video posted to Twitter by ClutchFans:

The rookie forward Kyle Kuzma, another one of the Lakers’ rising young stars, finished with a career-high 38 points and was perfect on 9-of-9 of his shot attempts in the first half.

This was the seventh time in Harden’s career that he has scored at least 50 points in a game, with the previous six games resulting in a Rockets victory. The five-time NBA All-Star also broke a Rockets franchise record on the night when he scored at least 20 points for the 30th straight game, according to another tweet from ClutchFans.

Up next, the Rockets will look to start another winning streak on Friday night when they host the L.A. Clippers at Toyota Center. Unfortunately for the Rockets, they may not have the services of star point guard Chris Paul due to a strained left adductor he suffered during Wednesday night’s loss to the Lakers.
