James Harden likes the grind of playing through fatigue

James Harden, Rockets

Houston Rockets star shooting guard James Harden enjoys the grind of playing through fatigue.

Harden is second in the NBA in minutes per game and has been playing through a neck strain lately.

The injury is clearly not affecting The Beard, as he still leads the NBA in scoring and is coming off a 61-point outing against the San Antonio Spurs on Friday which helped the Rockets improve to 46-27 on the season.

The term “load management” is taking over the NBA. Night after night, we are seeing teams rest their star players as the playoffs near.

Harden doesn’t want to rest, though. The reigning MVP loves to play basketball and is going to be on the court as long as he’s not suffering from a serious ailment.

Harden has been working out after games this season to strengthen his lower body so that he’s stronger for the postseason.  The seven-time All-Star is on a mission this season and he’s not going to let minor aches and pains get in his way.

In 69 games for the Rockets this season, Harden is putting up 36.5 points, 6.5 rebounds and 7.6 assists per contest while shooting 43.8 percent from the field, 36.3 percent from beyond the arc and 87.8 percent from the free-throw line.
