As of the moment, it is unclear what the exact injury was. As he got up, Harden was holding his chest area, suggesting that the wind might have been knocked out of him after receiving an elbow.
Nevertheless, Harden is back in the game. He seems not to be affected by the injury. At the half, Harden has 24 points, three rebounds, and two assists, in 17 minutes of play.
He is continuously slicing through the Golden State Warriors defense via isolation plays. Kevin Durant is given the initial task of guarding him. But as observed, the Rockets are switching Stephen Curry to guard Harden. At times, a much bigger yet slow defender is forced to switch up on him.
At halftime, Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals is knotted at 56. The teams seem to be figuring each other out, as it has been a relatively high-scoring affair.
Come the second half, expect the defense from both parties to tighten up a bit. By then, we’ll also know what Harden’s exact injury is and to what extent it’ll affect him moving forward.
