James Harden hasn’t talked to Wesley Johnson since crossing him over, says he wants to ‘drop somebody every game’

Rockets, James Harden

Houston Rockets superstar James Harden says he hasn’t talked to Wesley Johnson since crossing him over during the 2017-18 season.

Harden dropped Johnson with a vicious crossover, stared him down and then a hit 3-pointer to cap off the play.

The Rockets star admits he wants to “drop somebody every game.”

James Harden is one of the toughest players to guard in the NBA. He’s dropped plenty of players with his nasty stepback jumper. The Beard has led the league in scoring the past two seasons and firmly established himself as one of the greatest scorers in NBA history.

When you’re on Harden island, all you can do is pretty much pray. The Rockets’ floor general is impossible to defend in an isolation play. You have to send a double-team Harden’s way, or else he’s going to make you look silly.

Last season for the Rockets, Harden was nothing short of spectacular. The former MVP averaged 36.1 points, 6.6 rebounds and 7.5 assists while shooting 44.2 percent from the field, 36.8 percent from beyond the arc and 87.9 percent from the free-throw line.

Harden scored at least 50 points nine times and had two 61-point games. The Rockets won’t have to rely on Harden too much next season, as they acquired Russell Westbrook from the Oklahoma City Thunder. Westbrook has averaged a triple-double three seasons in a row.

The Rockets will most likely stagger Westbrook and Harden so they always have one MVP on the floor running the show, while the other one is resting on the bench.
