James Harden has more 50-point games than all Rockets players ever, combined
Houston Rockets star James Harden has accomplished another impressive feat after an incredible performance against the Los Angeles Lakers on Thursday night.
The Rockets won their second straight game by earning a 126-111 victory over LeBron James and company, but it was Harden who stole the show by posting 50 points on the evening.
He shot 14-of-26 from the field while going 18-of-19 from the free-throw line, and he took things even further by earning a triple-double with 11 assists and 10 rebounds.
It marked the 11th time in his career that Harden notched 50 or more points in a game, and that’s allowed him to continue to eclipse the total of every other player in Rockets history, according to StatMuse.
James Harden now has 11 career 50-point games. Every other player in #Rockets team history combined has just eight 50-point games.

This is James Harden’s second 50-point game of the 2018-19 season, as he went for 54 points back on Nov. 26 in a 135-131 loss to the Washington Wizards.
But any way you look at it, his scoring ability throughout his career has certainly been entertaining to watch. There are very few players that can completely take over a game as fast as Harden can, and he’ll continue to rank at or near the top when it comes to the best scorers in the NBA.
The Rockets could use more of these types of performances moving forward, especially if Harden and company want to make up some more ground after a slow start.
But the Rockets seem to be finding a little bit of momentum after back-to-back to wins, and they’ll try to carry that into Saturday night’s matchup against the Memphis Grizzlies.
