James Harden had his secret bubble workout revealed during post-game interview

ESPN sportscaster Rachel Nichols just revealed Houston Rockets superstar James Harden’s secret to his prime conditioning despite the four-month season hiatus.

In a post-game interview following Houston’s impressive come-from-behind overtime victory against the Dallas Mavericks on Friday, Nichols spilled the beans on Harden’s secret bubble workout:

“I was bragging on your conditioning, how you’ve been running the steps up-and-down at the hotel,” Nichols said, via Larry Brown of Larry Brown Sports.

“You can’t be telling everyone my secrets!” Harden joked in response. “I feel good … overtime game for the first game in a long time, I think my body help up really well.”

James Harden did clearly feel good, as he dropped 49 points (on 14-of-20 shooting), three triples, nine rebounds, eight assists, three steals, three blocks, and just one turnover in 43 minutes of action. The former MVP led his side to a hard-fought victory, with the Rockets emerging with a 153-149 overtime win in this high-scoring affair.

Clearly, Harden does not have any rust to shake off. It is worth noting that unlike other players, Harden took advantage of the scrimmage games by playing a healthy dose of minutes. At one point, Harden refused to be taken out of a scrimmage game, despite coach Mike D’Antoni’s instructions. It obviously worked in the favor of Harden, who does not look like a man who was out of action for more than four months.

This was a big win for the Rockets, as it provided them with a two-and-a-half-game advantage over the Mavs. Houston is currently sitting at the fifth spot in the West, and are now just three games behind the second-seeded Los Angeles Clippers.
