Back in August 2015, Houston Rockets star guard James Harden inked a 13-year, $200 million shoe endorsement deal with Adidas, effectively making him a spokesperson for the company.
During a recent Drew League game in Los Angeles, Harden went to the far extent of hiding the fact that he’s wearing a Nike brand uniform.

Nike runs the Drew League, which gives them the ability to place their logo on the both parts of the uniform. The 27-year-old isn’t doing this as a sign of disrespect toward Nike, but rather a sign of loyalty to his sponsor. He has had the huge benefit of receiving a lucrative shoe deal that almost outweighs his current contract, which is even greater incentive to do whatever it takes on his behalf to appease Adidas.
The company has produced a couple different shoes for his line including the upcoming release of the Harden LS shoe on Thursday that first became available in Las Vegas on Wednesday. It has helped make him one of the league’s most popular and globalized players.
This could get extremely interesting this upcoming season as Nike is taking over the production of the uniforms across the league in the NBA. This could indubitably mean much more black tape from the five-time All-Star throughout the season.
