James Harden catches fire from beyond the arc at Team USA practice

James Harden

James Harden’s shooting is as hot as the summer weather in Las Vegas. Maybe even hotter.

During the recently concluded Team USA minicamp at the University of Las Vegas, Harden showed that his shooting form remains on point even during these dog days of the summer.

Harden is part of the 35-man pool of players, all vying for a spot in the final cut, and the reigning NBA Most Valuable Player certainly helped his chances of making the squad by lighting it up from behind the arc and around the perimeter in Las Vegas.

If only Harden was that accurate from deep in Game 7 of the 2018 Western Conference Finals against the Golden State Warriors, the Rockets probably would have gone on to face the Cleveland Cavaliers in the NBA Finals. In that infamous contest, the Rockets went just 7-for-44 from distance with Harden sinking just two 3-pointers out of 13 attempts.

Harden is making that loss to the Warriors as part of his motivation to come back stronger next season. And even with the Rockets’ meltdown in that series, it shouldn’t diminish the incredible season Harden just had in which the bearded superstar averaged 30.4 points, 8.8 assists, and 5.4 rebounds in 72 games.
