James Harden becomes 2nd ever with 55 or more points in at least 2 straight games

James Harden, Wilt Chamberlain, Rockets

Houston Rockets superstar shooting guard James Harden joined NBA Hall of Famer Wilt Chamberlain as the only players in NBA history to record 55 or more points in at least two straight games.

Harden scored a whopping 61 points on Friday against the San Antonio Spurs. The reigning MVP scored 57 points in the Rockets’ previous game versus the Memphis Grizzlies.

After Friday’s outburst, Harden is now averaging 36.5 points per game on the season. The Beard is well on his way to leading the NBA in scoring for the second consecutive season.

Will Harden win his second straight MVP award? It’s very possible.

Milwaukee Bucks star swingman Giannis Antetokounmpo has been the front-runner to win the award all season, but with the way Harden has been playing since December, many believe he has closed the gap on Giannis.

At one point in the season, the Rockets were in the 14th spot in the Western Conference standings. Entering Saturday, Houston is 46-27, which is good for third place in the West.

Harden has 29 double-doubles and six triple-doubles for the Rockets. The seven-time All-Star is shooting 43.8 percent from the field, 36.3 percent from beyond the arc and 87.8 percent from the free-throw line.

Harden has established himself as one of the greatest scorers in NBA history. Anytime you can put your name next to Wilt Chamberlain, you are doing something special.
