Jalen Rose reveals inside info on Rockets’ Chris Paul, James Harden spat
Former NBA player and current ESPN analyst Jalen Rose revealed some inside info on the alleged spat between Houston Rockets All-Stars James Harden and Chris Paul.
Rose says Paul was frustrated with Harden because the reigning MVP would walk up the floor and look disinterested when he would initiate the Rockets’ offense. When Harden runs the offense, Paul is always engaged and spacing the floor.
“When Chris Paul was initiating the offense, James Harden looked disinterested,” Rose said. “How do you think Chris Paul felt about that? When you get tense about something like that, it now carries to the huddle.”
The Rockets lost to the Golden State Warriors in the second round of the playoffs in six games. The Athletic reported Paul and Harden had a tense argument after the game and that Paul was in the ear of head coach Mike D’Antoni telling him that the Rockets needed more ball movement on offense.
Harden led the NBA in usage percentage this season at 40.5. A lot of times, Harden dribbles the ball for the entire 24 seconds on the shot clock. It makes defending the Rockets pretty easy at times, especially in the playoffs.
The relationship between Paul and Harden on the court is definitely something to monitor moving forward.
