Iman Shumpert posts heartfelt farewell to Kings after trade with Rockets

Iman Shumpert is moving from the Sacramento Kings to the Houston Rockets as part of a trade, and the player sent a heartfelt message to his former team and their fans on Twitter:
Sacramento…I really can’t thank you enough for accepting me in full ever since I got off the plane when I was traded here. For the open arms, loving energy and stories we now share together as the #scores. THANK YOU.#piecedelafoutupie pic.twitter.com/hyhVdt38lC

Iman Shumpert just got traded from the Kings to the Rockets as part of a three-way deal that also included the Cleveland Cavaliers.
The Rockets will send guard Brandon Knight, forward Marquese Chriss and a 2019 lottery protected first-round pick to the Cavaliers. Additionally, the Cavs will send Alec Burks to the Kings, and guards Nik Stauskas and Wade Baldwin to the Rockets.
For Iman Shumpert, however, he had a rather strong season with the Kings, who are just starting to get back on their feet and are fighting for a playoffs spot. In Sacramento, he averaged 8.9 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 2.2 assists.
But even though Shumpert is feeling a type of way about being traded, there are a few team members excited about him joining the Rockets’ lineup.
Chris Paul, who said he has known Shumpert for a while, was one of the players who shared his excitement:
“I’ve known Shump for a while, man. He’s scrappy. He gets after it. And somebody like that, I can play with any day of the week.”
James Harden also shared his excitement about the possibility of working with Iman Shumpert:
“Shump is a vet who can help us — defensively, ballhandling, shooting. He is playing very, very well this season, so once he gets here, get a couple of practices in and let’s go.”
No doubt that “Shump” will do just as well in his new home as he did in Sacramento, and now he can compete for another title.
