High-ranking person says ‘turmoil’ has created ‘hard feelings’ throughout Rockets

The Houston Rockets have been in a complete state of disarray, one that has become evident at the wake of their playoff exit in the second round of the postseason. That came with the torching flame of general manager Daryl Morey pushing for changes next season, putting anyone not named James Harden on the trade block, short-handing head coach Mike D’Antoni, who saw five members of his coaching staff be fired after the end of the season, yet not fightingMorey’s recommendations for the changes.

According to ESPN’s Tim MacMahon, there is much more than meets the eye when it comes to the dysfunction and turmoil surrounding the Rockets.

“There is friction between James Harden and Chris Paul, the franchise’s two maximum-salary centerpieces. (Morey has aggressively shopped the Rockets under contract, including Paul and center Clint Capela, in the trade market.) And doubts linger about Fertitta, the inexperienced owner steering the ship through choppy waters while creating waves of his own.

“There’s too much damn turmoil,” a high-ranking Rockets source told MacMahon. “There’s some hard feelings right now everywhere.”

Every front of the Rockets organization, from the owner on down, has raised deep questions about the direction of the franchise, the aim in mind and the steps required to make this team into a rightful contender.

So far, Houston is only trying to recover from a series of aggressive mistakes it’s made in the wake of rousing success, ones that so far has only proved short-lived.
