On Thursday night, the Miami Heat headed to Houston to take on the Rockets. This was the latest stop on Heat shooting guard Dwyane Wade’s farewell tour, and the Rockets honored the veteran with a standing ovation and a tribute graphic.

This is Wade’s 16th and final NBA season. Of his 1033 career games to this point, all but 106 have come with Miami. The Heat drafted Wade with the fifth overall pick of the 2003 draft out of Marquette University. Since, he has made 13 All-Star appearances, including an honorary selection this season.
The 37-year-old has been productive for the Heat this year, despite being exclusively a bench player. He is averaging 14.3 points, 3.8 rebounds and 4.3 assists while shooting 43.5%.
For his career, Wade has shot 48.1% and averaged 22.1 points, 4.7 rebounds and 5.4 assists per game. He led the league in scoring during arguably his strongest season in 2008-09. He is a three-time NBA champion and won the Finals MVP in 2006.
On Wednesday night, Wade had his best moment of the season and arguably one of the most memorable of his long career. He hit an absurd buzzer-beating three-pointer to beat the Golden State Warriors in Miami.

Entering Thursday the Heat were 27-33 and only half a game behind the Charlotte Hornetts for the eighth seed in the Eastern Conference. According to ESPN’s BPI Playoff Odds, Miami has a 32.8% chance of making the postseason in Wade’s final year.
On Thursday night they face the 36-25 Rockets, owners of the fifth seed in the West.
At the time of writing, Wade has six points and one rebound in 10 minutes off the bench.
